TL;DR
- We collect only what's needed to make Morsy work and improve it.
- No ads, no data resale.
- You can ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected].
- Analytics events are anonymized — they describe the action, not you.
What we collect
When you use Morsy we may store the following:
- Account info (only if you sign in): your Apple or Google identifier, display name, email, profile photo URL, and the auth provider name.
- Progress: XP, Koch level, streak, badges, outfits, mistake stats, daily-word activity. Used to back up your progress across devices.
- Subscription: whether you have an active subscription, plan, and expiry. Managed via RevenueCat and the platform stores.
- Analytics events: anonymized counts of feature usage (which lessons get completed, paywall views, etc). No content of your messages or session is collected.
- Crash + performance data: standard Firebase Crashlytics signals so we can fix bugs.
What we do NOT collect
- No advertising identifiers.
- No precise location.
- No contacts, photos, or microphone audio.
- No biometric data.
Consent
On first launch the app asks whether you want to share analytics. You can change this any time from Settings → Privacy. Even if you decline, we still record basic crash + launch events under legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) so we can keep the app working.
Storage
Cloud data lives in Google Firebase (Firestore + Authentication) hosted in the United States. Subscription receipts are processed by RevenueCat and the platform you bought on (Apple or Google).
Account deletion
Email [email protected] from the address tied to your account and we'll wipe your cloud profile within 7 days. A self-serve delete button inside the app is on our roadmap.
Children
Morsy is rated 4+ but not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes.
